“The sweet ones,” she said, without looking over her shoulder.
She took three slices with her fingers and dropped them onto her waffle, her face completely still and relaxed.
“Emma is still packing her swim bag,” she said, her voice small but steady.
“We have twenty minutes,” I said, checking my wrist.
